Today I’m sharing the reveal of Annabelle and Ailey’s modern floral shared girls’ bedroom. Here is how How to Create a Beautiful Blush Floral Shared Girls Bedroom with a mixture of traditional and modern decor.

Designing a Shared Girls Bedroom

We never intended for our daughters to share a bedroom when we bought our home in 2018. However, the sisters made a decision to share Annabelle’s queen sized bed after one Christmas Eve and never separated again at night. Ailey kept her bedroom for playing and clothing storage until we learned we were having a baby in 2021. Ailey’s room would become a nursery and we realized we needed to official design a girls shared bedroom.

The Designer Behind the Bedroom Makeover

I am terrible at making decisions, but knew I wanted to get rid of the Pepto Bismol pink paint and add an accent wall to the bedroom. Thankfully, my friend Charlotte Smith, an insanely talented home decorator and DIYer, graciously offered to help with the bedroom makeover. We met virtually for a design consultation, discussing the bedroom layout, lighting, wallpaper, furniture, and more.

Charlotte is incredibly helpful and knowledgable about redecorating a bedroom with a budget. I told her some of my ideas for the space, and she suggested different patterns, colors, and designs. Initially I wanted to keep the queen size bed, but I’m happy I listened to Charlotte’s suggestion of twin beds! The girls LOVE having their own beds.

Here is the blush floral design inspiration collage we used to plan the bedroom. I like the mix of modern and traditional decor, as well as the neutral blush colors and funky florals. The wallpaper accent wall is actually one of my FAVORITE parts of the bedroom, as well as the reading lamps above each bed. Note: The sconces plug right into an outlet behind the nightstand.

How to Make a Shared Girls’ Bedroom Closet

Another HUGE help in the process of creating a shared girls bedroom is my brother-in-law. The bedroom closets in our home are wide, but designed with narrow openings. They also lack storage systems. My brother in law widened the bedroom closet and installed a closet storage system. We decided to leave the doors off the closet for easy access and design purposes.
