As a Momma of two little girls, I truly despise shopping for a bathing suit. Not only have I discovered that most suits are designed to only cover half of my buttcheeks, but they’re also worn by girls half my age. If I look for something more conservative, I cannot find anything I’m not embarrassed wearing in public. It’s usually a lose-lose situation, unless I’m having a lucky day and stumble across 1 swimsuit out of 100 that I don’t hate. After I settle on a swimsuit, I have to do the Mom test. Do I look inappropriate? Can I breastfeed in this top? If I bend over, is something going to fall out? It’s quite a process…
Since most swimsuits are over-padded or cheeky bottoms, I struggle to find one that works for my body. I’ve actually lost my curves, my butt flattened out to a pancake, and don’t get me started on my poor boobs. I never thought I would say I miss my college body, but I do. However, I am learning to embrace how I look, since I look this way as a result of birthing the two most incredible girls on our planet.
All Moms should feel amazing in their swimwear and not like they’re trying to hide what pregnancy has done to their bodies. I chose to review the Sport Shakti Double Time Tank Top and Evolution Hipster Bikini Bottom in Abstract Warrior.
There are a few features on this suit that just scream, “MADE FOR MOMS.” From the removable tank top to the strappy sport top to the adjustable bikini bottoms (think brief to short in seconds), there was a lot of thought in designing this swimsuit. The pattern is adorable – bright and fun – and the suit’s cut is trendy.
I love how comfortable and safe I feel in the swimsuit.
