Every summer I plan to buy the season’s latest items, but always end up with summer wardrobe staples instead. These are items I wear on a weekly basis and don’t go on any vacation without. My summer wardrobe staples are easily interchangeable and can be purchased anywhere.
White Denim
Whether its shorts or pants, white denim is one of my summer wardrobe staples. I buy a new pair of white denim pants every year, and usually add a few pairs of shorts to my closet. I love how white denim looks against bronze summer skin. Plus, it’s a fresh, flattering color and goes with so many different tops.
When you live in New England and have cool summer nights, it pays to have more than one pair of white pants. We went to the Hamptons and it was down to 60 every night!
Jean Shorts
I used to have strong feelings against jean shorts… but in the last two years I’ve decided I like wearing them again. They are easy going, comfortable, and come in a thousand different styles.
Neutral Shoes
I’ve always loved how a neutral colored sandal can elongate short legs, so I wear my favorite pair of summer sandals every other day. My Grandma-in-law bought them for me about five years ago while on vacation in Destin and now everyone I know owns a pair. The Tory Burch Miller sandal is so versatile and compliments any outfit.
Maxi Dresses
Easy, breezy, maxi dresses are a must have for summer. My go-to maxi dress is black and simple as it is easy to dress up or down, but having a variety of colors and patterns is fun too.
Anything Linen
Before summer officially started, I picked up two pairs of cropped linen pants that are so comfortable, cool, and perfect for any weather. Linen shirts, dresses, pants, and shorts are a wardrobe staple in the summer for men and women alike.
