With the start of a new school year on the horizon, there are a lot of changes going on. For my daughters, they’re both going to be in school in the fall for the first time EVER. For me, I am transitioning from Toddler Mom to School Age Mom. Long gone are diapers, bottles, and baby food when you have a school age children. There are a variety of Mom Purse Essentials for each stage of motherhood. Wondering what I’ll be carrying now? Here is a peek into What’s In My Purse: Preschool Mom Edition.

The Most Important Mom Purse Essential
It never fails – as soon as we leave the house, one of my daughters say she is either hungry or thirsty. A Mom Purse Essential: FOOD. I always pack a full reusable water bottle and snacks in my purse. Emergency snacks are necessary since my girls usually devour what’s in the snack bag quickly. It’s always better to bring too much than too little when you’re a Mom.

First Aid – For the Kids
It’s always important to bring a first aid kit for the kids. In our first aid bag: anti-nausea medicine, bandaids, anti-bacterial gel, baby wipes, tissues, and sunscreen wherever we go. Annabelle is prone to car sickness while Ailey is accident prone. Hair ties, a mini hair brush, and bow barrettes are other must-haves for my little girls.

First Aid – For Mom
I don’t like to leave home without a few “first aid” items for Mom. If you peek in my bag you’ll always find mini deodorant, a silk scrunchie, hand cream, Peppermint oil, and chapstick. Wondering about makeup? I only put makeup on at home!

Essential Activities for Kids
Depending on where we are going, I bring something to keep the girls occupied. My daughters’ favorite activities are coloring and anything having to do with princesses. However, on any given day you’ll find paper, crayons, and little princess figurines in my purse. I will pack the girls’ iPads, headphones, and no-mess coloring books.
Many of the must-haves for leaving the house with kids in my purse are organized by category and stored in reusable plastic bags. Clear storage bags are the best so you can see what is inside. I label the bags with permanent marker or apply a personalized sticker. Another random item I toss in my bag? A wet/dry bag with spare underwear/clothes for any potty accidents.
THE Mom BAG

Every Mom needs a purse big enough to carry all of the items necessary for leaving home with kids. My children have outgrown diapers, so I have also outgrown carrying a diaper bag. The St. Anne Tote by Barrington Gifts is one of my favorite bags to carry as a Mom! There is so much room for all of a Mom’s purse essentials.
I love the St. Anne Tote because not only is it extremely spacious, but it also comes in a variety of classic patterns and personalization options. If I am not with my daughters, I don’t feel strange with the beautiful carryall purse as I would if it were a diaper bag. The customization options combined with high quality materials make for an amazing must-have bag for Moms.

If you’re a Mom of preschool or school age kids, what do you never leave home without?
