Even after a wonderful weekend in September, I’m ready for a full week trying out our new schedule. We spent Saturday and Sunday with family and friends, enjoying the beautiful crisp fall weather. Are the leaves changing where you live? We have a few trees in the neighborhood with yellow and orange leaves! Enjoy the weekend recap!

Family Time
Surrounded by family is one way I love to spend a weekend.

Most of my best friends are my relatives since we all grew up side by side. My siblings and cousins now enjoy watching our children grow up together in the same way. It’s incredibly special to watch the friendships being made at such a young age.
P.S. My niece Sloane is officially TWO!

Fall Wardrobe Additions
I read this article about Back to School Wardrobe Updates for Moms and it has me very excited for fall fashion. Tailored dresses, grab-n-go cardigans, neutral skirts and soft knit casuals are items every Mom needs.

After donating four bags of clothes to Goodwill, I went shopping to update my fall wardrobe. These cropped corduroy denim pants, waffle henley, and leather mules are just a few items I purchased. I also bought a sweater cardigan, cable knit sweater, sweater blazer, and a couple skirts. With my birthday coming up in a few weeks I’m sure I’ll add another pair of shoes and pants.
Dairy Free Sensitivities
I read an article this morning that has me thinking a lot about Gut Health, especially since a downside to my weekend is how terrible my stomach felt. Over the last two months I’ve been struggling with gut issues and after testing by my GI doctor, I can confirm it’s all self inflicted.

Due to dairy intolerance when my daughters were very young, I was on a dairy free diet while breastfeeding for three years. I felt incredible, my skin was clear, and my clothes were never tight. When I stopped breastfeeding, I learned a lot re-introducing dairy into my diet about what I can and cannot tolerate. There are so many products with hidden dairy ingredients, so it’s incredibly important to always read labels.
Feta, goat cheese, and most hard cheeses do not irritate me, but ice cream, milk, and yogurt do. Cow’s milk is at the top of my don’t eat dairy list. There are many processed foods with milk as an ingredient, so moving forward to have to watch everything I eat. Here’s to hoping I can reset my system by cutting back on dairy!
