Happy Monday! We had a wonderful weekend with my mother-in-law who came to stay with us after her job brought her to Massachusetts from Tennessee. Enjoy my October Weekend recap, as well as a peek into what’s coming up for our family this week.
The Nordstrom Grand Opening Party at the SONO Collection
The fun kicked off last Thursday at the Nordstrom Grand Opening Party at the SONO Collection in South Norwalk. I was invited to attend the exclusive night out filled with cocktails, light bites, live models and music. The new Nordstrom is gorgeous with three floors of bright airy space to hold all of their best items.

My sister, Tine, and fellow blogger, Lauren, and I had a wonderful evening sipping Prosecco and socializing. I hope to visit the store again soon as they are the only Nordstrom in Connecticut to have speciality areas for manicures, skincare, and fine dining.
Planning for the Months Ahead
On Friday my friend Claire, another blogger, came over with her adorable sons for a play date/blog content plan session. I rarely plan content for more than a month out, but Claire and I sat down to brainstorm ideas from now until December.

I met Claire after she hired me for a blog consultation and we became fast friends bonding over motherhood. It’s nice to have someone who understands the blogger world AND mom life.
Visits with Nana
We were all thrilled when my mother-in-law’s job brought her to our corner of the country and she was able to stay the weekend. We haven’t seen her since the Disney Cruise and we all missed her dearly. My father-in-law wasn’t with us, but we will see him for Christmas in a few months.

A visit to New England in the fall is not complete without a trip to the pumpkin patch. Since our family has yet to pick out a pumpkin for carving, we visited one of our favorite local orchards, Drazen Orchards. Saturday night we all went out to eat and on Sunday everyone came over for pizza. Here are some snippets from the weekend.

Annabelle and Ailey picked out a fun “Pin the Spider on the Web” game at Target for everyone to play. The game ended in tears when Ailey cheated and peeked when sticking the spider to the web. It was fun while it lasted and definitely a great activity for any fall family party.

The end of our October Weekend Recap must be here!
Brandon put the finishing touches on our Halloween decor for the outside (and inside) of our home! Last year Annabelle and Ailey wanted a spookier house so we shopped the day-after-Halloween sales for decorations. It’s definitely the best time to buy spooky props and decor for the following year.

What’s Ahead…
This week I have a lot of catching up to do since I have been battling a sinus infection for about 8 days. The girls are off from school for Columbus Day today, so I can’t be as productive as I’d like. Our plans include: pumpkin muffins, library, and maybe a craft. Thursday is our 10th wedding anniversary (wow!) but we won’t officially celebrate until November when we head to Portland. What is on your weekly agenda?
