Are you looking for how to decorate your home for Valentine’s Day? Here are some tips on how to use winter decorations for Valentine’s Day and where to buy festive February decor.

The months between Christmas and Spring are difficult when it comes to home decor. Do you keep up the Christmas tree or move right into Easter? In our house I like to put up a few decorations for Valentine’s Day. My daughters love to see the reds and pinks!
The built in shelves in our family room are a main focal point for holiday decorations. I sporadically place ceramic and wooden hearts on the shelves, and display matching wood pictures frames. The decorations we own have been collected over the years from various stores.
Combine Winter Greens to Decorate Your Home for Valentine’s Day
Want to combine winter and spring greens? An easy way to use greens for Valentine’s Day is to add faux red berries to the decorative piece. Faux boxwood is a transitional plant you can use for winter to spring. Sometimes I like to use winter greens, like pine, leftover from Christmas too!

Kid’s Home Decor for Valentine’s Day
My daughters love festive plates, bowls, and utensils for every holiday. You can find inexpensive dishes at Target or the Dollar Store, or invest in Pottery Barn Kids dining wear.
We also enjoy creating our own artwork to use as decor in our home for each holiday. Every Valentine’s Day I display the handmade heart art by Annabelle and Ailey.

Check out this easy tutorial for making heart handprints and footprints to use as Valentine’s Day decorations. We will be making new artwork this year since the girls hands and feet have grown so much in three years!
