One of the cutest things I’ve ever heard come out of Annabelle’s mouth was over lunch the other day. “Mommy! Did you know Easter is NOT about the Easter Bunny, but about Jesus?!” I let her tell me the whole story of Easter and couldn’t believe she knew all the details (even the not-so-kid-friendly ones). Her preschool teacher was so proud of her for memorizing the story that she made a point to tell me yesterday. I’m so happy she is learning about religion in preschool because I’ve dropped the ball on that one regarding specifics.
Last weekend we visited Brandon’s parents in Tennessee. Annabelle had a blast coloring Easter eggs with Nana and Ailey and hunting for candy filled eggs at a townwide Easter egg hunt. She even found a prize egg and won herself a mini chalkboard!
Ailey spent most of the weekend hiding behind her sun hat and thinking about how badly she wants to crawl. Since I’m going to D.C. this weekend, she will probably do it as soon as I leave. Towards the door. Looking for me and my milk.
Are you asking yourself why I’m leaving my family for Easter? Technically I’ll still be with family, just not my girls. When we booked our trip to D.C. we didn’t really look at the calendar… so I didn’t know it was Easter until everything was arranged. I am flying back on Sunday morning, but I’ll be missing the girls’ finding their Easter baskets. I am hoping Brandon and the Grandparents take videos for me!
