Did you know April has been celebrated as Earth month for the last 47 years? Since we only have this one big planet to live on, I’ve always found it important to teach my daughters to appreciate all the beauty the world has to offer. We try to spend a lot of time outdoors appreciating the little things – the sound of the crickets chirping, a morning bird’s song, or the fallen acorns under a tree

Since Annabelle was little, one of my favorite things to do is go on mini picnics. Whether it is in our backyard or at a public park, weather permitting, we are there with a blanket and picnic sandwiches.

When we are done eating, we like to look for fun items from Mother Nature to bring back to the house to add to Annabelle’s little fairy garden. Annabelle has such a wild imagination that she can turn anything we find into something wonderful. A flower might be a new dress for the fairies, while a stick turns into a broom so they can sweep the floors in their fairy house.

One of my picnic sandwich go-tos is a deviled egg salad sandwich. Paired alongside a delicious tea, like Peach Ginger Honest® Tea, deviled egg salad is better than your standard egg salad.
Worcestershire sauce, pickle relish, mayonnaise (made with olive oil) and dijon mustard mixed with hard boiled eggs makes this a perfect picnic sandwich. I believe my recipe is better for you than most because I like to use olive oil mayonnaise, which is lighter in calories and fat.
Nothing pairs better with a deviled egg salad sandwich than a light refreshing tea. I really love the new unsweetened Peach Ginger Honest® Tea because even though there is no added sugar, it is still just a tad sweet. All Honest® Teas are organic and fair trade, brewed with real tea leaves so it takes just like something you’d make at home. It makes sense that in the month of April, Earth Month, I’m enjoying a drink that’s real, honest, and pure, like the beautiful planet we live on.
You can find Honest® Tea at Kroger in the organic section.
Currently there is a digital coupon offer for 25 cents off 1 bottle. This digital coupon can be used up to 5 times in one transaction at Kroger and all Kroger divisions. The coupon will be live until 4/22.
